Preventing healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) is the top financial priority for the next 12 months for one-quarter of respondents in a recent survey of acute and post-acute healthcare providers conducted by GP PRO. This as 84% of respondents noted that the number of such infections has somewhat or significantly increased since the onset of COVID and 39% say preventing HAIs is worth investing more in than they currently do.

Whether it’s a leaky faucet, a lack of toilet tissue, or a less-than-pleasant odor, it seems customers can always find something to complain about when it comes to public restrooms. But there are steps that can be taken to help avoid or quickly address these issues before they become grievances.

A GP PRO survey into the return-on-investment of smart restroom technology found that two-thirds of property managers and 57% of commercial real estate brokers believe it warrants more than a 3% premium above base rent if it helps ensure consistently clean and well-stocked restrooms.
