Maintainer Mindsets: Understanding the People Behind the Work
Behind every clean, well-stocked facility are the people doing the work to keep it that way. But what does a typical day look like for the people responsible for maintaining these spaces, and what could make their jobs easier? GP PRO surveyed 200 maintainers across the U.S. to better understand their experiences, challenges and perspectives. The research explores what keeps maintainers in the industry, what contributes to job satisfaction, how they approach everyday tasks and what they wish more people understood about their work. The findings reveal a workforce that takes pride in providing an essential service, but also faces real pressures. While 81% expect to remain in the profession, maintainers point to pay, staffing, tools and recognition as important parts of the employee experience. And when it comes to restroom maintenance, opportunities exist to make everyday work simpler and more efficient.
